Hungary Running Race Preview: 3rd Violin Maraton
January Series 2/3
For our second race in focus we have the 3rd Violin Maraton in the historic city of Kecskemét. This race promises a unique experience in the form of classical musicians who will be also braving the cold and offering rejuvenating musical delights for the participants!
Kecskemét itself is a charming town with a history worth noting. The town was identified as such as far back as 1368. Since that date it has been and become a refuge from invasion, an agricultural centre, and an important wine region. Following an increase in wealth in the city it was able to create a striking town square in the Art Nouveau style. Kecskemét is known for its wine, but also especially for the barackpálinka - plum brandy. It is one of the two centres of the Great Hungarian Plain and the 8th largest settlement in the country. With this race the organisers are bundling up classical musical culture with architectural history, and a chance to race somewhere new! What more do you need? Look for the travel options below.
